How to Remove airbag module from 2004 2005 2006 2007 Honda Accord?

How to remove airbag module from 2004 2005 2006 2007 Honda Accord?


Airbag module is located underneath the storage bin in front of shifter.
Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable from top of battery.


Using a small flat head screw driver, remove small cover on shifter panel. Use the same screw driver to press gently down on the release  switch. While pressing down, change the shifter position to the "1" position. Remove screw driver after shifting is done.


Open the storage or coin tray cover and pry on the sides with a small flat head screw drive and remove it. After removing the storage tray, remove the two philips screw driver screws. Remove the tray housing together with the aux outlet. Disconnect wiring to outlet.
Remove two screw driver screws from bottom of big storage bin.
Close bin cover and pry on sides gently until it's removed.
 Now the airbag module is visible.

Disconnect the connectors from the airbag module and gently put to a side. Remove the two torx bolts holding module to the floor using t30 bit.
 Remove the driver's side panel.
 Remove the philips head screw from the driver's side cover.
 Remove the philips head clip from the driver's side cover. Then remove the cover out.
Remove the driver's side duct.
Remove the torx head bolt from side of module.
 Remove the the passenger side cover by removing the philips head clip.
 Remove the passenger side duct.
 Remove the torx head bolt from side of module.
Remove module from car.




Tools used to remove module.
 T30 torx socket attached to extension and ratchet
 Mini flat head screw driver
Regular size philips screw driver
